India has 6 major religions. Hindus,Muslims,Christianity, Buddhists,Sihks, and Jains. Hindus believe in the doctrines of samsara(reincarnation)and karma . One of the key thoughts of Hinduism is the belief in soul. Followers of Islam aim to live a life of complete submission to Allah. They believe that humans have free will but everything is under allah's control. 85% of people in urban are literate while only 69% in rural area is. Kerala is the highest literate state, where my parents come from. India has made many advances in technology, from science to music to well being. One interesting thing india invented was Shampoo. They used a variety of herbs. The first recorded successful shampoo was made from dried gooseberry and a few other herbs. A very important building is the taj mahal. It was made to hold the body of emperor Shah Jahan and his favorite wife. Hindi and english are the official language of india. My parents and majority of my family speak malayalam. Most indian foods consist of sometype of bread with a condiment on the side, such as rice and butter chicken curry. Chicken tikka masala and much much more
